We had an issue with water leaking from the air handler in our bedroom. I called Air Handlers and left a VM. I was contacted via txt a few minutes later and asked if I was requesting emergency service. I did so and was told a dispatcher would contact me. I was contacted later that afternoon and told a tech was on the way. The technician, Matt, quickly assessed the situation and determined the installed humidifier was not the source of the leak as I had thought. He reached the conclusion the condensate drain had frozen during the cold temps and water backed up and overflowed. Water is a bi-product of NG heaters so the frozen drain appears to have been the problem. Matt cleaned the drains as best as he could and recommended I consider altering the drain setup to try and minimize potential exposure to cold. I replumbed it to a drain in my crawlspace so I shouldn’t have the same problem in the future.
